The Webster's of Raheenduff

In the early 1900’s Nathaniel Webster, became head of the family and inherited the Poultry farm a few hundred yards down the lane east of the Raheenduff Crossroads. Nathaniel, born in 1886 had two younger sisters Annie who was only 2 years younger and Evelyn 8 years younger. All three were Church of Ireland and were fully literate. Daniel Whelan was their parent’s butler and farm servant and he continued service with Nathaniel. By 1910, Daniel reached the age of 50 and the farm work grew, so two extra servants were employed. Tinn Aiden aged 27 and Patrick Doyle joined the Webster’s at their farm to help run the farmhouse whilst Nathaniel and his sister worked the farm.
